What "preliminary estimate" means
Our estimate is based on what you tell us about your home (size, floors, basement type). The final quote is confirmed after a 15-minute on-site assessment. This protects you from overpaying for a simple job and us from underquoting a complex one.
What about DIY radon test kits?
| Factor | DIY Kit | Professional Test |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $30-$60 | $249 |
| Accuracy | Moderate | High (calibrated) |
| Turnaround | 4-8 weeks | 3-7 days |
| Placement guidance | Printed instructions | Expert on-site setup |
| Report | Basic number | Full written report |
Our honest recommendation: If budget is tight, a DIY kit is significantly better than not testing at all. For real estate transactions, family health decisions, or when you want confidence in the result, go professional.
Common questions about our services
Why don't other radon companies publish pricing?
Partially industry habit, partially because every home is different. We solve this by publishing clear base prices for testing (where every home is the same) and giving a preliminary estimate for mitigation (which we firm up after a 15-minute on-site visit).
Do you charge extra for weekends or evenings?
No. Same price regardless of when we schedule.
What if I don't need mitigation after the test?
Then you don't pay for mitigation. About 83% of GTA homes test below the guideline — we'll tell you when to re-test (every 2-5 years is the standard recommendation).
Do you work with property managers and landlords?
Yes. We offer volume pricing for multi-unit buildings and property management companies. Contact us for a custom quote.
What's your service area?
The Greater Toronto Area plus surrounding Southern Ontario (including Guelph, Burlington, Hamilton), approximately within a 1.5-hour drive of downtown Toronto. Same pricing across the service area, no distance surcharge. If you're further out, contact us — we can often still help or refer you to a trusted C-NRPP colleague.
